Rich Campbell Announces Retirement from Esports Commentating

Esports News

Following a number of years broadcasting, hosting, and being a prominent esports caster, and commentating esports events and competitions, Rick Campbell has announced his retirement from commentating, so that he can focus on other opportunities, including streaming.

“I do not plan on hosting anymore tournaments after this” Campbell announced on Twitter. “Thank you to everyone who has watched me cast over the years, it has been a wild ride-but I can’t manage casting in any capacity while full time streaming. The announcement being made soon will be changing everything for me”

Campbell’s last gig is the ongoing Dota 2 tournament, which he is hosting until September 6th.

“I do not plan on hosting anymore tournaments after this,” Campbell said, via Twitter. “Thank you to everyone who has watched me cast over the years, it has been a wild ride-but I can’t manage casting in any capacity while full time streaming. The announcement being made soon will be changing everything for me.”

The move should not come as a complete shock, as Campbell recently made the move to full-time streaming following his dismissal from Blizzard Entertainment back on July 9th.

A few days later, Campbell decided not to renew his expired contract with Activision for their Call of Duty League so that he could pursue streaming.

Esports continues to evolve, and is starting to lean more into Esports SEO marketing to help as it continues to expand it’s market base.
