USA Network lost the media rights of WWE Monday Night RAW to Netflix earlier this year, and NXT in the weeks following to the CW, but the longtime network home of WWE won’t be losing WWE programming altogether.
According to Deadline, NBCUniversal have agreed to a five-year domestic media rights deal that will bring WWE’s Friday Night Smackdown, which is currently airing Friday night’s on FOX, to the USA Network.
Additionally, USA Network will continue to air RAW, despite their current deal expiring in September 2024, until the end of the year under an extended rights agreement between WWE and NBCUniversal, and WWE will also produce four specials a year for NBC primetime.
NBCU paid $25 million for the additional months of rights, according to TKO.
The milestone Netflix deal which will being WWE RAW to the platform, which was announced earlier this year, is currently scheduled to start in January 2025.
