Sony is reportedly forming a brand new studio composed of former employees of Deviation Games and is apparently they are “working on an undisclosed IP”, according to a post from former technical director Michael Anthony on LinkedIn.
“All the people I see working there that have signed up are top class developers,” Anthony said in the post. “I hope that you can create a top class new IP with your studio that hopefully gives you all the time you need to create a quality product and not have to deal with the red tape of previous projects.”
Deviation Games co-founder Jason Blundell is apparently involved in the new studio.
Deviation Games, which was founded in 2020 by Blundell and Dave Anthony, and was known for their work on the popular Call of Duty franchise. The studio announced their official closure, following a round of layoffs in 2022, in March of this year.
