Bungie Explains Destiny 2 PC Ban Issue

Bungie has responded to many complaints regarding random and unexplained bans on the PC version of Destiny 2.

Bungie said that it has banned “approximately 400 players” of the PC version while promising that it will not and did not ban anybody using software that employs screen overlays or performance monitors.

“Bans were applied to players who were using tools that pose a threat to the shared ecosystem of the game,” said Bungie in their statement.

Bungie’s stance seems to be that any player who received a ban did something to warrant it but it contradicts the complaints of users who said that they were banned even though they don’t have anything installed on their computer other than the Blizzard app and the game.

Later in the day Bungie stated that they “identified a group of players who were banned in error” and that those bans were unrelated to the use of third-party applications with Destiny 2.

“We will continue to review the process we use to ensure a fun and fair game,” said Bungie
