Only a year after it’s initial launch, Minecraft Earth will officially shutdown on June 30th, 2021, according to an announcement from Mojang.
The AR game will receive one final update on January 5th, and then will officially sunset later this year.
The new, and final, update will include new content, but will also remove real-money transactions, and will also reduce the time and virtual currency costs for crafting and items as well.
Additionally, any person who spent money on Minecraft Earth will receive a token to download the Bedrock edition of Minecraft on their mobile device, and those who have a paid ruby balance as of today will also get Minecoins that can be used in the Minecraft Marketplace and character creator.
