Fortnite: Battle Royale Implementing Major Update On Wednesday

Fortnite: Battle Royale is about to get, well, more epic, as you can see in the trailer above.

In a new update that will hit on March 8th the Battle Royale game will introduce a new mode that will pit five teams consisting of 20 players each to battle one another to see who can survive the longest.

While the new mode is chaotically exciting it is only available for a limited time.

The game has also experimented with a 50 vs 50 mode, which just sounds awesome.

“We’ve been using multiple data points (including your feedback) to iterate our existing [limited time modes]’s and to build brand new LTM’s,” Epic Games wrote in a recent blog post.

“We are planning to quickly spin up a dozen or so LTMs, some of these may be more straightforward (e.g. along the lines of Sniper Shootout, Sneaky Silencer etc.). We also use LTMs to test new Shooting Models.”

Here is a rundown of some of the upcoming modes:

  • Blitz Mode (shorter matches)
  • Drop into the first circle
  • Generally less time between circles
  • Team sizes in between 50-versus-50 and squads
  • 50-versus-50 version 2
