Destiny 2 Sandbox Changes Revealed, Next DLC Leaked

Bungie is putting some serious work in on repairing ‘Destiny 2’ and a recent post shows that the development team is trying everything to win games back.

Many believed the next DLC would be ‘Gods of Mars’ but new product listings on both Amazon and Gamestop showed ‘The Fallen Warmind’ with a price tag of $19.99 and a release date of May 8, 2018.

A leak in the Microsoft store shed more light on what the next DLC will entail

“Destiny 2 Expansion II: Gods of Mars sends your Guardian out to investigate a mysterious signal originating from Mars’s Northern Point, a brand new destination with all new story missions and adventures.

“Rasputin – the last of the ancient Warminds, has been alerted to a dark threat from beyond the Solar System. He has betrayed humanity and plans to construct a powerful weapon capable of detonating the Traveler itself.

“Work alongside Ana Bray, who has emerged from the shadows after being missing for years, and destroy Rasputin before his machinations are realized.”

Bungie also provided details on their upcoming 1.1.4 sandox update, which is due out March 27, and discusses how they’re buffing weapons, abilities, and respawn times to make the PvP experience much better.

Senior crucible designer Kevin Yanes wrote that players have said the PvP tends to feel too slow and complained about the “team-shotting” aspect, something I eluded to in my latest Twitch streams from this weekend.

Bungie is finally acknowledging that they fudged up Crucible and are taking strides to address some of the main issues gamers, such as myself, have with the gameplay.

Bungie are taking the tracker out of Competitive and Trials with the hopes that this will encourage players to communicate more and play for more solo flank attacks instead of sticking in groups for team-shooting.

Pulse Rifles, Scout Rifles, Hand Cannons, Sidearms, SMGs, Linear Fusion Rifles, Shotguns and Sniper Rifles are all having their damage increased in PvE and here are some other tidbits:

  • Respawn and Revive were tuned in all game modes
    • Player respawn timers for all Quickplay modes have been reduced to 2s.
    • Player respawn timers for Survival have been reduced to 7s
    • Revive lockout time in Countdown has been reduced to 7s
    • Players no longer lose Revive Tokens on death
  • Power Ammo respawn timers were adjusted across the board
    • Power Ammo respawn timers in Iron Banner have been reduced ~50%
    • Power Ammo respawn timers for all Quickplay modes have been reduced ~30%.
    • Power Ammo respawn timers in Survival have been reduced ~40%.
    • Power Ammo respawn timers in Countdown have been reduced ~25%
  • Ammo counts have been adjusted in relation to these timers, and in relation to weapon type.
    • In almost all cases weapons either retained the same ammo count or received a buff. Swords and rockets were brought down to stay in line with the rest of the weapon offering.
  • Enemy players now drop their Power Ammo on death.
    • This brick is now networked to all players regardless of faction. Secure the power ammo to keep it from your foes or steal off your enemy’s ghost, but be quick because these bricks don’t stay in the world forever.
