The Witcher 3’s Xbox One X Update Adds 60 FPS Support

The Withcer 3: Wild Hunt’s latest update on the Xbox One X console is being met with rave reviews.

Developer CD Projekt Red has patched the game with a number of enhancements allowing people to play at 60 frames per second or in 4K resolution.

However, a bug exists that seems to contradict the enhancements.

The 550 MB patch adds two new visual options to The Witcher 3’s display settings including 4K Mode and Performance Mode.

4K Mode delivers “stable 30fps gameplay” said CD Projekt Red, while Performance Mod runs up to 60 fps while scaling the resolution dynamically between 1080p and 4K in an effort to meet that frame rate target.

CD Projekt Red did say that a patch to add HDR on PS4 Pro “will soon be released.”

You can read a more detailed breakdown of the update, along with thoughts and issues, over at Polygon.
