Twitch is making it a bit better for their Partners, as they will be rolling out a change that no longer require Twitch Partners to have to sit through ads on the majority of the broadcasts.
According to insider Zach Bussey, “As of this weekend, Partnered streamers will no longer see ads on Twitch! No prerolls, no midrolls! (Limited exceptions ie. NFL). If you’re a partnered streamer who currently pays for Turbo, you can cancel it!
He continued in a later tweet with the following: “A member of Twitch’s Ad Team is clarifying that this feature is about making the platform ad-free while searching for “a channel to raid”. I’m unsure if that means exclusively when live – but it contradicts other messaging. Asking around.”
Furthermore: “Alright, from what I can gather at this point – there’s internal debate about how this perk is going to be implemented long term. So, you might not want to cancel your Turbo subscription, as this feature “wouldn’t replace Turbo.””
