US Army Leaves Twitch

Things couldn’t gone worse for the US Army esports team as they attempted to leverage the popular platform Twitch to drive recruiting, ans now they are bowing out after a horrendous few weeks.

According to The Guardian, the US Army esports team is now withdrawing from putting on any more twitch streams and it may be for the best given how terribly they handled chat, and put on streams, with views pushed by marketing efforts with the platform.

But the US Army departing Twitch isn’t the only headline.

According to VICE, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez intends to file an amendment to the newest House Appropriations bill that will prevent all branches of the military from using funds to “maintain a presence on Twitch.com or any videogame, esports, or livestreaming platform.”

So, that could mean no more recruiting efforts from the military on the world’s premier streaming platform, and considering how things went down, it’s probably for the best.
