Twitch Sees All-Time Viewership Records for Hours Watched in Q2

twitch news

Twitch is again seeing all-time viewership records as Q2 2020 numbers show that, yet again, Twitch has surpassed milestones for hours watched.

According to a Streamlabs Report (in collaboration with Stream Hatchet), Riot Games’ shooter Valorant and the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to widespread quarantines and stay-at-home orders, have contributed to the massive boosts to Twitch streams at record rates in Q2.

You can check out the infographic below, which shows that Twitch clocked in 5.07 million hours watch, accounting for 67.6% of the market.

YouTube Gaming comes in at 2nd, Facebook Gaming in 3rd, and Mixer coming in dead last at 1.4%.

Also worth noting, VALORANT had the most successful quarter of any single game in Twitch history, overtaking Fortnite for hours watched in a quarter, when it set the record mark back in 2018 with 399 million hours watched, which catapulted streamer Ninja to superstardom.

The number also show why Mixer simply had to bow out, with consistently low numbers, often dead last, it now makes more sense why Microsoft pulled the plug.
