Twitch Prime Offering 21 Free Games In July

In anticipation of Twitch Prime Day, the streaming service has one heck of a month planned for the rest of July, making summer that much more awesome.

Earlier this year, Twitch started offering free games to its Prime members and this month they will be giving away a total of 21 games, FREE, for the month of July.

“Do you like games? Of course you do, or you wouldn’t be reading this. What about free games,” self-proclaimed “marketing guy” Twitch Marketing rep Robert Busey wrote in an offical blog post. “Well, to celebrate Amazon Prime Day, we’re giving away a new game to Twitch Prime members EVERY DAY from July 2 through July 17th!”

  • Pillars of Eternity Definitive Edition: July 2nd — July 4th:
    A role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment. Become enthralled in a world where the paths you take and the choices you make along the way will help forge your destiny.

  • Metal Slug 3:
    Metal Slug 3 is an amazing single player run and gun experience where you blast your way through giant crabs, zombies and armored tanks. Get ready to frag!

  • The Last Blade:

Patreon Hires Twitch’s Adiya Taylor as New Corporate Communications Lead

Content creation platform Patreon has officially tabbed Adiya Taylor as their new corporate communications lead, effective in February, according to an official announcement.

Taylor worked for Amazon’s video game streaming platform Twitch for three years in a variety of roles, most recently serving as the company’s senior monetization communications manager prior to her departure.

Taylor’s hiring comes after Patreon brought on Brielle Villablanca as Vice President of communications and creator advocacy back in November 2023.

“I’m thrilled to begin crafting and implementing a communications strategy around policy, trust and safety, product and more,” Taylor said during an official post on the networking platform LinkedIn, adding that she believes Patreon is a “true advocate” for creators.

“I’m looking forward to more storytelling around how we’re fostering fandom so that creators own long-lasting businesses built around their artistry,” Taylor added.

Twitch Reportedly to Provide Better Chat Control for Streamers

Twitch has been in damage control in the midst of the run of hate raids that have dominated headlines over the course of the last few months, and now they are reportedly working on improving the control that streamers have over their chat.

According to reporter Zach Bussey, Twitch is working on giving streamers and creators more control of who can participate in the chat during their live twitch streams. These controls will allow streamers to control who can chat based on email and/or phone verification.

Additionally, the new features will include a lot of customization and situational restrictions, and exemptions can be provided for Subscribers, VIPs, and channel Mods as well.

Warner Music Group Becomes First Major Recording Company to Partner with Twitch

Warner Music Group (WMG) has become the first major recording company to partner with Twitch in a deal that will see WMG artist channels, original music programming and more to the Amazon owned platform, according to Billboard.

As part of the deal WMG is launching artist channels for Warner Record artists Bella Poarch and Saweetie, as well as Atlantic Records singer and producer Sueco. Each artist will share exclusive behind-the-scenes content on their twitch music streams.

According to a media statement, the move “empowers Warner Music’s talent to tap into Twitch’s unique creator-driven model, opening up additional income opportunities, as well as access to Twitch’s fan engagement tools to get to know their audiences better”.
