Twitch Reportedly to Provide Better Chat Control for Streamers

Twitch has been in damage control in the midst of the run of hate raids that have dominated headlines over the course of the last few months, and now they are reportedly working on improving the control that streamers have over their chat.
According to reporter Zach Bussey, Twitch is working on giving streamers and creators more control of who can participate in the chat during their live twitch streams. These controls will allow streamers to control who can chat based on email and/or phone verification.
Additionally, the new features will include a lot of customization and situational restrictions, and exemptions can be provided for Subscribers, VIPs, and channel Mods as well.

As part of the deal WMG is launching artist channels for Warner Record artists Bella Poarch and Saweetie, as well as Atlantic Records singer and producer Sueco. Each artist will share exclusive behind-the-scenes content on their twitch music streams.
According to a media statement, the move “empowers Warner Music’s talent to tap into Twitch’s unique creator-driven model, opening up additional income opportunities, as well as access to Twitch’s fan engagement tools to get to know their audiences better”.

Twitch, National Music Publishers Association Nearing Licensing Agreement

Amazon owned streaming platform Twitch is reportedly nearing a music licensing agreement with the National Music Publisher’s Association (NMPA) that would put an end to the long battle between the publishing organization and the live-streaming platform, according to Billboard.
The reports goes on to state that the two parties have come to an agreement in principle, but there is nothing binding that has been signed. Another source cited in the report said that a deal may be announced by the end of September.
A licensing agreement between Twitch and music labels has been in the works for years, per the report, and would likely bring an end to the DMCA takedowns on the platform, a big plus for twitch streams moving forward, should a deal become official.
