Popular content creator and Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren was recently hit with a copyright claim on one oh his newly created videos, but after he conducted some research it was determined to be a scam.
The video was a conversation with fellow streamer Devin Nash, and the copyrighted material was listed at the end of the video. However, the only sound playing was Zelda’s Lullaby from The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, according to DOT Esports.

Despite some debate as to who made the claim, it was later learned that a person named Hezkej Beners from a video entitled “Happy Doge”, which was a collection of the beginning of popular songs as well as meme sound effects.
Users are utilizing bots to make copyright claims against videos on YouTube automatically, but Ludwig rightly pointed out, the bots are intended to farm money.
Due to the sheer volume of content going up on YouTube, the company has challenges properly addressing the long-standing issue, but has been relying on an automated system as opposed to manual reviews of these claims, which would be far more effective.
Twitch has made it’s own foray into copyright claims, and saw a number of DMCA takedowns levied on twitch channels that used copyrighted music during their streams.
