Telltale Games Finally Replacing Engine

The time has finally come. Telltale Games is replacing it’s engine, which has been hanging around for around a decade, as it will phase out its Telltale Tool to support the Unity engine.

The Telltale Tool was an in-house game engine that Telltale Games developed back in 2004 and it has supported every release from the company since.

While the Tool has undergone some major upgrades over the years, it is still outdated and that age is why the company is switching to Unity for future releases, according to Variety (via Eurogamer).

The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be the final game to use the Telltale Tool while the first games to launch using Unity will be Stranger Things and The Wolf Among Us: Season 2.
