Evolve to Shut Down Dedicated Servers in September

The end is near for ‘Evolve’ as Turtle Rock has announced that Evolve’s dedicated servers shut down on September 3rd, 2018, according to a post on the 2K website.

With the shutdown, features such as Hunt (Ranked), leaderboards and Evolve’s in-game store will no longer be available.

Additionally, on July 2nd, Stage 2, the free-to-download version of the game, will no longer be available on PC, however gamers will still be able to play Evolve online via the peer-to-peer multiplayer in Legacy Evolve on PC and on consoles.

Turtle Rock shutting down the servers come as no surprise as they announced back in 2016 that they would no longer be working on the game, which resulted in a mass exit of gamers and a ton of backlash towards the development company as a result.
