Gamers now have a better idea of what to expect in the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Battle for Azeroth, as details have finally been revealed.
In addition to the next chapter in the game’s story, there will be new characters, new items, new customizable armor, Island Expeditions, and ‘Warfront’ mode.
WOW game director Ion Hazzikostas recently spoke to Polygon, and spoke about what is on the way.
The new ‘Warfront’ mode, which was inspired by Warcraft 3, will feature 20-player PvE missions in which players on both sides of the field lead their faction into battle, attempting to swing momentum in their favor.
For example, a mission called Stromgarde Keep will be available in the Arathi Highlands, and will rotate between Alliance and Horde. Once a faction turns in enough resources, Warfront mode is launched, and players will have around a weeks time to jump in the event in order to reap the rewards.
The new expansion arrives on August 14th.
