Bungie is continuing to grind through a mass overhaul of Destiny 2, which suffered through several months of fan backlash and player abandonment due to disappointment with what felt like a hollow game when compared to it’s predecessor.
Bungie has confirmed that weapon slot changes are on the able, along with public test servers, as outlined in a recent Bungie Bounty Twitch stream.
Bungie’s community manager, David “DeeJ” Dague, design lead Josh Hamrick, and senior PvP designer Kevin Yanes all took part in the stream to answer questions and discuss plans for the game’s future.
“I think that’s a reasonable request” Hamrick said when discussing a potential return to Destiny 1’s weapon slots. “Ultimately though, we want to do something better. Either way, we’re actively working on weapon slot changes right now. Like, right now.”
Hamrick said that they would be able to elaborate more on that this summer.
“We’ve heard the feedback that the community wants more involvement or at least more of a conversation” Yanes said when discussing a public test server for the game.
“We’re actually looking at ways with the stream, but even in-game, you know there’s a big desire for testing builds early so it’s something we’re thinking about and talking about and working on”.
“This is something we’ll talk about when we’re ready to actually begin it,” Dague added.
