Roku Cutting 200 Jobs, Cites Challenged Economy

Roku

Roku has joined a number of other technology firms in cutting jobs, as they plan to cut 200 jobs, equating to about 5%, of their staff as plans were officially approved on Thursday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Per the report, Roku says that the plan to reduce it’s workforce was meant to “slow down the Company’s 2023 operating expense growth rate due to current economic conditions.”

Additionally, Roku plans to take severance charges of between $28 million-$31 million on the layoffs which are slated to take place this quarter and completed by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
