Detroit-based esports organization Renegades Esports made headlines last month when they released their only competitive team, their Apex Legends division, and now they are in a holding pattern.
According to Esports Insider, Renegades officially competes in zero titles and has zero signed athletes or content creators, as its owners ‘evaluate the space’. Over the past year the Renegades have slowly dissolved their competitive esports presence, and finally disbanded its VALORANT division in April of 2022.
“The company was all over the place and very unorganized,” one former employee said, per the report. Another source described the company as an “average gaming clan” and another as a “Tier 3” organization.
There has been no comment by Renegades at the time of this report.
