Pokemon Go Announces Summer Tour Events

Alola trainers, if you’re looking to catch a lot of Pokemon this summer, Pokemon Go has some activities to you.

In a news release, Pokemon Go announced its “Summer Tour” for 2018. Below is some information from their website.

It’s time to mark your calendars and get ready for an exciting lineup of Pokémon GO events all over the world. This year we’re bringing dynamic live events to even more places. It’s the Pokémon GO Summer Tour 2018!

Trainers across Europe: Get ready for a Safari Zone event in Dortmund, Germany. Together with the city of Dortmund, we will host an event from June 30 to July 1 in beautiful Westfalenpark.

Westfalenpark is not only one of the largest inner-city parks in Europe but also includes elaborate water features, a Japanese garden, and large playgrounds for kids and families. Enjoy the fresh air and beautiful view while catching many types of Pokémon! Activities will expand to Dortmund’s entire city district, inviting players from all over Europe to explore the city’s cultural history through Pokémon GO. This is an open event for all to enjoy, so book your travel and accommodations soon! For detailed information on the Dortmund Safari Zone Event, please visit the event website.

For trainers in the United States, Pokemon Go Fest is returning to Chicago from July 14 to July 15.

The event, dubbed “Pokemon GO Fest 2018: A Walk in the Park,” will offer trainers an immersive, unique experience for a day-long event.

The event will be held at Lincoln Park with a 1.8 mile course and will include activities for trainers of all ages.

For more information about single-day passes on May 11 on the event website.

The will also be a Safari Zone event will be in Yokosuka, Japan later in the Summer. There will also be a schedule for trainers across Asia.

The summertime is great for hunting Pokemon – the weather is typically nice, you can wear less layers because of temperatures and there’s usually activities and community events happening in your town. You can hunt for Pokemon while participating in activities.

Some trainers and critics may be upset because Pokemon Go events are held in major cities. If you’re from a smaller town like myself, there aren’t many official Pokemon Go events.

However, I’ve found there are groups out there who play Pokemon Go and hold their own events. For example, in Spokane at the Garland District, a group of Pokemon Go players held an event that turned out thousands.

Trainers can also organize their own Pokemon Go event in their community. One suggestion would be to contact the local Chamber of Commerce or Parks and Recreation department.

The news release also included dates for Pokemon Go Community Days during the summer. Trainers already know the next day is May 19, where the spotlighted Pokemon will be Charmander. The other dates that were announced included Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, July 8. The spotlighted Pokemon for those days will be announced at a later date.

Folks who want to show off their events and community can use the hashtag #PokemonGOSummer.
