YouTube streamer Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter revealed during one of her recent streams that she has been diagnosed with a condition called temporomandibular joint dysfunction of the jaw, which could be impacting her stream schedule.
The condition, also known as TMJ, can lead to a myriad of symptoms including pain in the jaw, difficulty chewing, and/or clicking or locking of the jaw joint, according to WebMD.
“I’ve developed Jaw TMD (Temporomandibular joint dysfunction)!!” Valkyrae said, on her Twitter account. “Streams may be much shorter and I may be more quiet than usual so I can try to recover faster but idk if I can ever heal because I don’t shut up lol.”
