Amazon’s Twitch streaming platform has come under fire recently for a new feature they have implemented that allows viewers to request refunds from the channels that they subbed to.
The issue is that the new feature is now a mechanism for users to troll twitch channels which, essentially, allows them to sub only to get the streamer to comment, and then refund their subscription.
When initiating a refund, Twitch face-planted by adding the option “I just wanted to get a shoutout” which seems to highlight, and empower the behavior.
While Twitch may have truly implemented the feature to track date, as it pertains to why people cancel a subscription to a particular channel, but it has led to one epic fail and backlash from the community.
