Popular twitch streamer Jaryd ‘Summit1g’ Lazar has shut down rumors of a potential departure from Twitch following a clip that went viral where he stated he would quit streaming to pursue another passion.
Clocking in at over 5 million followers on the Amazon owned platform, there is no denying his success on Twitch, so a possible exit would be a big blow to the platform.
The clip was from a stream on November 18th, and Summit1g said that he was quitting Twitch so that he could make a video game.
“I have decided that I am going to end my contract with Twitch and take on the next chapter of my life, which is making a video game” he said (h/t Dexerto). So, I’m out.”
Since then, the streamer has been doing damage control to quell the impact of the clip, and has issued the following on his official Twitter page:
