Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys is one of the most popular twitch streamers in the business, but that doesn’t mean she is getting a pass in the eyes of Twitter, who locked her account due to a DMCA strike on a post from almost a year ago.
According to Dexerto, this is the post that seemed to have trigger the DMCA strike, and thus led to Twitter locking her account:
@pokisay so ?
Pokimane responded to the lockdown on her official Twitter page: “my twitter account got locked because i tweeted “i love girls” and did a tiktok to “say so”.. lol”
Apparently, Pokimane was able to unlock her account after she reviewed Twitter’s Copyright Policy, and it is now working fine.
However, this is proof that social platforms are handling DMCA strikes as well, and it’s not just excusive to streaming platforms such as Twitch, so content creators need to be aware of what they post, and that it stays in line with TOS and guidelines.
