Following the shutdown of Microsoft’s Mixer platform, a number of Mixer streamers made their move to their next streaming platform, with many taking advantage of Facebook’s acquisition of Mixer by heading to Facebook Gaming.
The end of Mixer coupled with the boom of streaming led to a record year in 2020 for Facebook Gaming.
According to StreamElements and Arsenal.gg, Facebook Gaming saw a 166% increase in hours watched from 2019 to 2020, as the platform clocked in numbers that saw it enter the streaming arena in a more competitive manner.
