Popular Youtuber Chloe Ting, who has made a name for herself on the platform thanks to her popular fitness streams and videos, says that she is considering moving away from the YouTube platform.
Despite the fact that Ting runs one of the most successful fitness channels on YouTube, she claims that it comes with a price with a number of people coming after her and her channel. Earlier this year, a group of male gym enthusiasts criticized her workouts, and she even ended up collaborating with a few of them as a result, showing them just how hard it is to make it among the fitness streamers world.
“I’ve been thinking about quitting YouTube once and for all and just being done with it,” Ting said in a recent video (h/t Dexerto). “I’ve been burnt out for some time now. The stress, the pressure, and the hate… sometimes I just don’t know if it’s worth it.”
She would go on to admit that she feels like she’s “walking on eggshells” and has to watch “every little thing” she says, adding that something as simple as eating chocolate could “turn into an eating disorder.”
“Everyone on social media gets hate, and it’s normalized. But it gets really challenging and hurtful when some people try to villainize me,” she stated. Ting added that brands are “trying to take advantage” of her by selling merch under her name even though their products, even if she has no affiliation or association with the brand.
