Leave it to one of the most popular and successful twitch streamers to be a demonstration of the ongoing issues regarding the harassment and hate raids on the Amazon streaming platform, but Asmongold did just that in spades.
Back on August 22nd, the streamer discussed the movement and protest, but criticized the efforts claiming that it won’t matter because not enough big time streamers, such as himself, are involved.
“Nobody gives a f**k if you take the day off. Nobody knows who you are. That’s the truth,” he said during the stream. “You can’t get a bunch of 20 [small streamers] together and think you’re going to do anything. Nobody gives a f**k.”
“That’s why I don’t believe in this,” he continued. “Who are these people? That’s why it’s not going to work. That’s the whole point.”
While he did go on to say that he would participate if other big streamers took the lead, the damage was done, and Asmongold was subjected to heated backlash on social media, with some even sharing a clip of his controversial comments about Hurricane Katrina survivors during one of his past twitch streams.
