Twitch is doubling down on their efforts to expand their Esports category, and have launched Versus, which is a suite of competitive tools that will let creators, and esports teams, to organize and manage their own tournaments
The feature is currently closed BETA, but collegiate esports leagues, game devs, select Twitch streamers, and Twitch Rivals competitors
Twitch Rivals has been hosting competitions between both streamers and pros since last year, so this venture isn’t entirely new for Twitch, but will help them organize their esports section and esports directory that was rolled out earlier this year.
People may draw comparisons between Versus and Facebook Gaming Tournaments, so there will be obvious competition for Facebook now that Twitch is more involved.
