Jeanne Mau, who has served as NBCUniversal’s head of diversity, equity and inclusion for TV programming since joining the company back in 2021, has been officially promoted to executive vice president for TV programming.
Mau will continue to report to Universal Studio Group chairman Pearlena Igbokwe and NBCU Entertainment chairman Frances Berwick.
“Over the past three years, Jeanne has systematically expanded and elevated our inclusion efforts in television. She has introduced us to new voices in front of and behind the camera and become an invaluable resource to our showrunners and internal creative teams,” Igbokwe and Berwick said in a statement issued to entertainment news outlets. “We remain committed to our principles and, as we look to the future, Jeanne will continue to serve a critical role in our business by supporting our goal of producing compelling content that appeals to global audiences.”
Mau spent two decades at CBS prior to joining NBCUniversal where she has sheperded the NBCO Launch Initiative, aimed at bringing together diversity and inclusion across NBCUniversal’s linear networks, Peacock streaming service and the studio group.
Mau has also updated the NBCU’s writing and directing programs as well as launching the first major inclusion efforts in unscripted programming at the DEI company.
