Meta Cuts Responsible Innovation Team

Meta has officially disbanded a team of experts that it initially formed several years ago who had a mission to help mitigate the negative impacts of their company products, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The team was comprised of engineers, ethicists and others who were tasked with discovering potential long-term problems with products, including the Facebook social platform as well as their virtual reality headsets.

They were responsible for then taking that information and taking action to keep any potential harm from progressing into actual damage/harm.

Meta’s former Chief Technology Officer Michael Schroepfer, who announced his departure last year, was one who supported the Responsible Innovation.
